There are 10 main wine regions in France: Alsace - Renowned for producing excellent dry and sweet white wines. Bordeaux - One of the most famous wine regions in the world. Bordeaux wine is created from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. It's smoky, spicy, tobaccoey, and great with meats. Burgundy - A region with a collection of sub-areas. The flinty, classic Chablis flavor is made solely with Chardonnay grapes, the freshness of Beaujolais Nouveau comes from the fruity Gamay grape. Champagne - The infamous region renowned for producing bubbly from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Cotes du Rhone - Best known for its Hermitage wine, the Rhone Valley is well known for its spicy, fiery reds.
